SMOKE ON THE WATER (2) confirmed the market support that made him favourite fresh up at the Sunshine Coast by bolting in by well over 2 lengths, with plenty left in the tank at the line. This is no harder, and even with an extra 3kg to shoulder, he can repeat the dose. KOKATAHI (5) hit the line hard once in the clear fresh up at Eagle Farm, and he has gone the right way since. The extra 150m is the key, and he can go one better in this. BARRELLING (6) set the pace at Ipswich last start, but raced too keenly before folding up in the run home. He gets a couple of subtle gear changes, and if he can settle better in the running, then he is an each-way threat in this field. GAULTIER (8) just missed by a short-head in his first start from the Queensland stable of Chris Waller, and he gets a big swing in his draw this time. Stick with him. EARTHING (10) needed his first Queensland start after being bought out of Victoria, and he will be a quick improver here, with the blinkers on.
