Hard to split the top two here, but leaning towards EKANITE (1) who was only beaten a length in a similar race at Geelong on debut. Should improve from that performance, and that would make him incredibly tough to beat today. JAMESJOHNO (2) the toughest opponent after narrowly missing at Bendigo latest over 1300m. Was prominent throughout on that occasion and should be well in the mix from the early exchanges again here. Respect. PLENTY OF GRUNT (4) ran reasonably well on debut as favourite, and deserves at least one more chance in this. TOPMOST (5) has been kept fresh after a couple of competitive efforts and should be kept safe. TWO WOLVES (6) is an intriguing first starter from a first stable who warrants a look.
