Cowra Race 1 - Cowra Motors Mdn Plate
This looks a race in two. NAFANUA (7) started favourite but after racing on the speed last start over this distance at Goulburn was found wanting in the closing stages. Fitter for two runs back and this is not a deep maiden. Big chance to break through. DELUCE (3) battled on fairly in heavy going but found a couple better when resuming over this trip at Nowra last time out. Given a month to get over that effort. Should make progress at this stage of the prep and looks the clear danger. The sparingly raced MAGIC IRIS (6) was just fair first-up at Wyong. Strips fitter and won't find this anywhere near as tough. ERION (1) was beaten comfortably last start in an inferior race at Gilgandra. A win would surprise. KNEEL DOWN (2) needs something easier and is likely to struggle again.
