LOWESTOFT (9) is a consistent performer with three minor placings from three starts this campaign, most of them in better grade than this. Also better for the run at 1600m and having the services of Harry Coffey is a big plus. IRISH WAVE (4) needs to improve on the 6-length ninth at his last appearance over 1600m at Camperdown on January 17, but he was good the start prior and draws ideally here. ABBY'S CROSSWORD (8) is yet to break through in 16 runs, the latest a ninth over 1700m at Warrnambool but she was good the few runs priors and gets extra points for being on the home track. SHREWDNESS (6) is a stablemate to LOWESTOFT who hasn't done a lot at her first two starts but will be better for them and the step up to 1600m. HE'S ON SONG (3) wasn't sighted on debut back in August but was put away after that and has had a couple of 1000m trials in preparation for the return.
