Churchill Downs Race 1 - Race 1 - Claiming

VALIANT HUMOR (3) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a strong race last time out, finishing second and beaten only 1.75 lengths over 1408m at this track (Dirt) after being prominent at the bend. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. MUIR WOODS (5) did little and finished 12 lengths from the winner in seventh over 1006m at Horseshoe Indianapolis last start, a less impressive effort than his sixth at Del Mar Turf the run before. Finds a tougher race but he has the ability to test this field. ANTRAX (4) doesn't win out of turn but ran a strong race last time out over 1207m at Keeneland (Dirt), finishing third and beaten 1.5 lengths after being prominent at the corner. Nicely placed to play a pivotal role. CITY OF LIFE (1) was never really a threat when resuming last start over 1308m at Keeneland (Dirt), finishing 11 lengths from the winner in eighth. Has a decent record at this trip with four minor placings from six tries and can play a role in the finish.
