Charles Town Race 2 - Race 2 - Claiming

BIRDY WHISPER (5) pushed forward last time and boxed on to finish 0.8 lengths away in third over 1408m at this track (Dirt). Well placed and there is no reason he cannot salute. CHIEF MORTER (1) turned in a fine effort to win by 0.3 lengths at today's track and distance last start in a far better run. Likely to be there at the finish again. GUARD OF HONOUR (6) is a seven-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the William Earl Atkins stable. Resumes after finishing ninth at Delaware Park (Dirt) at his last run ten weeks ago. Not seen at the trials but looks nicely placed. Bold showing expected. BOLD ROCK (3) made progress last time out, finishing 3 lengths from the winner in third over 905m at this track. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race.

Comes off a 48 day let-up. At the latest run 5th of 7 at this track on September 11 over 905m, 11 len behind Titanio with 56kg at $5.70. The race before that ran last of 7 at Colonial Downs Inner Turf on August 28 over 1006m, 11 len behind Blessings Bestowed with 55.5kg at $28.20. Gelding back from a spell of ten weeks. Has placed previously first up from a break. Finished off last campaign second last of 10 at Delaware Park August 22 over 1710m, 13 len behind Tell 'Em I'm Comin carrying 51.5kg at $25.40. When resuming last campaign third in a small field at Sam Houston Park February 8 over 1609m, 3 len behind Secrecy Is Evil with 55.5kg at $10.40. Could prove too smart for these.
