Caulfield Race 6 - Here For The Horses Rubiton Stakes (G2)

HEDGED (1) has been up forever and just when it looks like he's put in a shocker to end his campaign, Gavin Bedggood gets him to turn around and run a new peak, which is exactly what he did last start winning the G2 Australia Stakes at Pakenham. The deck was fast and Pakenham doesn't usually host horses of that calibre but he smashed the track record and beat horses proven above this level. If he holds his form, he'll win again, but that's been the trick with him. OAK HILL (5) found the line well fresh behind Way To The Stars who was just too speedy in front. Like him going to 1100m now off a slightly more even tempo where he can balance up and let rip. PROVED (7) resumes off a short break. She found 1400m too far last time, this suits much better. PALLATON (8) resumes off some sharp trials in Sydney. Not sure his 3yo form last time in was the absolute best but he won well before a break and can measure up. WONDER BOY (3) perhaps next if he can find his best.
