Caulfield Race 4 - Sportsbet Blue Diamond Prelude (C&G)
Good clash for the colts and geldings with little between the top two. FIELD OF PLAY (3) just gets the nod. His debut win at Moonee Valley was outstanding, charging home from midfield to score by 3.3 lengths and put up a strong figure. He was immediately tipped out and can measure right up here. Very wary of ALEPPO PINE (2) who looked every bit a Blue Diamond horse when winning easily on debut at Ballarat, coming clear to score by 2.5 lengths. His latest jump out suggests he's come back even better. TYCOON STAR (1) resumes. He won the G3 Maribyrnong Plate on debut before a solid effort behind Palm Angel in the Merson Cooper. He's won a trial leading in and can figure. Don't love the BD Preview form but YAMASHITA'S GOLD (4) ran well on debut in it and is open to improvement. DEVIL NIGHT (11) is an expensive colt on debut who has won a trial and might just be best of the newcomers.
