CHARTWELL HOUSE (3) was interestingly-placed at his past couple, jumping up to races beyond 2000m after performing well over sprint trips. Back to this distance appears much more suitable and there's nowhere the depth here compared with those earlier good performances. NIGHT COLOURS (3) showed good improvement second up and she only needs to take another step forward here to be fighting out the finish. NANKEEN (4) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1000m at Warracknabeal, beaten 1.5 lengths into sixth. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. MIN KIATA (1) was beaten 7 lengths into sixth over 1200m at Mt Gambier at his latest appearance, but was a winner two starts prior and there's not a lot of recent winning form in this. THE MARINER (5) did win last start, however, but it was an easier race than this. That said, confidence will be up and he might go on with it.
