Belmont Race 1 - Mrs Mac's Plate
The new racing season begins with the now 3YO's and RADIANT LIGHT (2) goes on top following a strong effort here last week. He closed off nicely behind a very smart type, beaten 1.4L. While back in trip today, his fresh run over 1200m was very solid and he wouldn't have to do much different to be going one better this time. SPLIT THE GEE (1) was an impressive winner on debut before a 1.4L defeat ended her campaign. She'll be fitter for a recent trial coming in, though she does go to 12000m first up which is a question. Needs some luck from the deep but has class. HUBBLE'S DRAGON (5) was just fair in the heavy going on debut and looks as though the rise in trip should suit. Pike hops aboard now and the form out of his debut has been very strong. Can be in the finish. CAPE LEEUWIN (3) is better than he showed last start and can bounce back. QUEEN CARTEL (8) did enough on debut to suggest she can run a race here.
