BASSETT'S CHOICE (10) hardly set the world alight in two career starts and will appreciate this easier class. Went back from the wide gate and chipped away late when tenth over 1400m at Randwick. Strips fitter third-up and can take a hand in the finish. CHIEF OF STAFF (2) drifted back on resumption and failed to get into the race when eighth over 1200m at Doomben. Since fitted with a 1010m trial win and further improvement is anticipated. Each way. FIREY TRUTH (6) beaten for early speed on debut before warming up late to finish third over 1200m at Beaumont (Newcastle). Blinkers go on and will appreciate this trip in weaker company.
