Might be a race with a few promising stayers, this one. You wouldn't think ENDEMIC (9) would be going off her breeding - she's by Russian Revolution - but looked every bit the stayer on debut when she thumped home from the rear to get third at a big price. Better for it, suited this trip and can probably settle closer from the low draw. The C Waller-trained WHITEBAIT (8) was heavily-backed on debut, when Damian Lane made the effort to ride, and while he failed to flatter that day there were enough factors to suggest he might be worth sticking with. ZOVOZO (6) has done little wrong in four starts to date, beaten by a handy one at the latest, and the slight rise in trip might be to her advantage. Kiwi recruit TOP RICH (3) showed great improvement at his Aussie debut in a race won by a horse bound for the Victoria Derby, so he warrants close attention. BELLE FLAMME (4) looks to have come on this prep judging by the first-up run and is suited rising to this distance.
