Ascot Race 2 - Mrs Mac's Plate
NINETYMILESTRAIGHT (8) stuck on gamely in the Sir Ernest Lee-Steere last time out when mowed down by a very smart galloper. The inside draw should see her up on the speed again for O'Donnell and she remains down in the weights. Well placed on that effort and can go one better this time. LANFRANCO (2) also comes through the Lee-Steere where he was 0.6L behind NINETYMILESTRAIGHT at the finish. He did jump ahead of the filly in the market too. The inside draw is a bit of a niggle with his racing pattern, but if the breaks come then he'll be hard to hold out. ARTISTRY IN MOTION (1) led and bolted in over 1685m at Bunbury last time out and drops back in trip today. He wasn't far away over this trip the start prior and he has the speed to roll across from the wide alley. Can be in this for a long way. SOUTHERN FIRETAIL (6) has hit the line nicely in his trials coming in and has claims with Pike on board. HARD SOLO (7) wasn't far away last week and has to be included.
