NUGGET ROGERS (5) could only manage to finish seventh at his latest appearance over 1690m at this track, failing to live up to market expectations. Taking on a better field but he is up to the task. FIRE MARSHALL (7) found a couple better two runs back then made mistakes last time when he broke and finished 11 metres back in sixth over 1710m at Ballarat. Will need a bit of luck negotiating a very wide starting position. Facing a tougher assignment but he is up to the challenge. WITH IN REASON (3) finished second last start over 2250m at Boort. Generally runs very well at this circuit so can play a big role. MOMENTUM SHIFT (11) is in the mix following a fifth at his most recent appearance over 1720m at Melton.

Ran well last start showing plenty of improvement following January 12 run. Just managed to hang on and win ran on strong from last on the turn and won by a head when driven back in the field, (Fr5) held up early, at this track (2:03.20) beating Spirit Of Sahara in NR up to 55 on January 17 at $3.50 at the bell was 6th-12.21. This race will be harder than that win. Might find this beyond him.
