THE EX HORSEIST (8) has been racing at Menangle of late and there was merit in the latest effort when he came from a wide draw for fourth, beaten 7 metres. If things go his way from the second line he could measure up to these. PETES BIG JIM (2) didn't do a bad job when sixth from the back row here last time out and looks well served by this barrier. DILETTO (4) drew on the back row and worked but toughed out a last-start win at this circuit and distance. Deserves respect off that.
