OUR SUNSET DELIGHT (5) came south with some strong Sydney form behind him and went close here last week, chasing along the sprint lane to miss narrowly in the Smoken Up Sprint. That is a good pointer for this for this and he is a two-time winner at this longer distance so looks the one to beat. CIGANO (6) added to an impressive strike rate at this venue when he came from a long way back to cruise home by 9.5 metres last start. Tackles a smart one tonight but his record is tough to knock. YAMBUKIAN (9) hasn't raced for 14 months but he is a capable pacer who put together a string of wins here last campaign. Readied with a trial and has won five of seven when fresh so keep him safe. TRIPLE EIGHT NZ (8) and HESITATE (7) are both capable of featuring if they find their best.
