FORTY LOVE (10) has put together a string of top-three finishes including a Hamilton Cup win last month. Since then he was a slashing third to Leap To Fame in the Ballarat Cup before coming from this row to go under by 3.5m at G3 level last start. With even luck he could be hard to hold out. HESITATE (11) was one of the more consistent three-year-olds of last season, placing in the Eureka and Queensland Derby. Has won two of three fresh attempts and was readied with a trial win. Tricky draw but his statistics both here and at the distance are encouraging. MY ULTIMATE BARNEY (9) came from this barrier for a resuming win at this circuit and distance and has been runner-up in both outings since, last start racing wide before beating FORTY LOVE home. The progressive SOHO GUNSLINGER (2) draws well for his return. Unbeaten fresh and readied with a trial win. SEATHESTARS (7) draws wide but he is four from four at this circuit and distance and was readied with a nice trial.
