VINEY (3) faded out when well fancied first up but he is much better than that having performed well in the Breeders Crown series last time in, finishing fourth in the G2 final. Draws well and won his lone attempt at this circuit and distance. Give him another chance. SHOTINTHEDARK (1) made an encouraging return when he came from wider for fourth at Cranbourne. Placed in both previous second-up attempts so should be improved and is aided by the ace draw. PISTOL PEARCE (9) is a lightly-raced but progressive gelding who won his maiden two back before a last-start fourth at Cranbourne. May need some luck from this draw but has more upside than many of these. Last-start placegetter BIG RIG SAINT (7) could feature again despite a wide draw.
