Melton Race 1 - Nutrien Equine Classic Race Series 4 (3Yo Colts & Geldings) (1St Heat)

CIGANO (3) is a progressive colt who drew on the back row and raced three wide without cover but was a class above when resuming, scoring by more than 7m at Geelong. That was his first outing since a fifth in a G1 in Brisbane last July so the hitout will have improved him. He is well served by this draw. ITS CONFIDENTIAL (7) was checked and broke when well fancied in last week's Bathurst Gold Chalice but was flying prior, winning his other four starts of the campaign. Draws wide but was six from six at this distance prior to last week. The penny looks to have dropped for APOLLOSTORM (1) after he broke his maiden by spanking his rivals by 30m at Melton last week. The ace draw could see him go on with the job. IM ALL BUSINESS (2) showed promise with an easy win and two close seconds in a three-start maiden campaign. Readied with two trial wins and has upside. MAJOR CRUNCH (4) deserves respect after winning two of his last three starts.
