FORTY LOVE (5) finished sixth at Melton two starts back then did a great job at his latest appearance over 2240m at the same circuit, beaten only a head into second after being up on the pace from the outset. Perfectly placed and is sure to prove tough to beat. HOT DEAL (7) went back last start then worked home in good style to finish 3.5 metres from the winner in third at Mildura over 2190m, that effort following a good win at Mildura the run prior. Tactics will be crucial from this wide draw. Good enough to take out a race like this. OPERATIVE LINE (6) is better than his last-start tenth over 2240m at Melton would suggest and is worth another chance. MADRIGAL NZ (3) could only manage seventh when resuming over 1680m at Terang last start. Can do better.
