Progressive four-year-old THE LAST TRIP (3) couldn't have been more impressive in last week's heat, working from a wider barrier before drawing away and breaking the track record with an 8.6m win. That took his record since joining Emma Stewart to six from seven, the lone defeat a second in the Vicbred Final. He can take advantage of a lower draw and add to that imposing record. FORTY LOVE (6) made it two wins on the the trot when he drew on the back row and worked to the front before cruising home by 11.7m. That took his record here to three from three. He draws on the front line tonight and is in peak form at the right time. ULTIMATE VINNIE (1) was the other heat winner last week, his second success on the trot. More depth here but he is in form and draws for a soft run. The Seaton Grima pair of SPRINGFIELD AFFAIR (5) and SOUTH SEAS ROCK NZ (8) are both exotic hopes after placing last week.
