SNAKE OIL (3) has been competitive of late and kept the ball rolling last time when 1.1 metres from the winner in third over 1609m at Menangle. Will enjoy a nice run from this favourable starting position. Ideally placed and is sure to prove tough to beat. LIT THE WICK (5) hadn't featured in recent runs before making up plenty of ground to salute at his latest appearance over 2240m at Goulburn. Taking on a better line-up this time but he has the ability to mix it with them. ALWAYS BE BRENDAN (2) is worth plenty of thought off a last-start win by a head at Goulburn over 1710m.
