There was plenty to like about the debut performance of VEDMID STRIDE (8) in the Gold Crown heat when he raced parked but stuck on to be beaten less than 6 metres at this circuit and distance. Tactics will be crucial from this wide draw but he is open to improvement. MACH MAHONEY (1) came from much wider and finished midfield in his heat last week. Should enjoy a nice run from this favourable starting position having finished fourth from this barrier here two back. HEAD RUSH (5) was fifth from this barrier at his most recent appearance and also had this draw when he placed in Brisbane on debut. FARROH JOE (6) has scope for improvement in his second outing.
