FINAL DEADLINE NZ (8) was far from disgraced when midfield behind the big guns in the Rising Sun. Won his other three starts this time in, two of them here and the other in the Redcliffe Gold Cup. Draws for a trail and can win if he gets the breaks. FATE AWAITS (3) hinted at a return to form when runner-up to wonder mare Captains Mistress last week. Draws lower and his record at this circuit and distance stands at five from seven. ALWAYS B COOL NZ (6) is a lightly-raced but progressive gelding yet to miss the top-two. Impressed when winning from the back row here last week and could take this next step. FOX DAN (10) cops a tricky draw but has been solid behind Captains Mistress of late and he is good enough to win this if things go his way. MAGIC MIKI (1) was runner-up to Always B Cool from this barrier last week. Can be competitive again.
