GUS NZ (11) added to his winning streak with a resuming win in the Listed Trotters Marathon, overcoming a 40m handicap to score by close to 5m. That was his first outing since claiming the Dominion Trot and NZ FFA double at Addington last November so should be better for the hitout. Draws wide on the back row but only needs to hold his form to win again. NOT AS PROMISED (6) made it back-to-back seconds when chasing Gus in the Marathon before returning to the winners' list here last time. At peak fitness and his record at this circuit and distance is encouraging. AJAY VOLSTEAD (5) continued his consistency when 4m behind NOT AS PROMISED last start. He is suited up to this trip having won twice in a row at this circuit and distance prior. HIDE AND SEEK (7) must be respected after placing in his last four outings.
