FERNCO NEL (7) was edged out as a hot favourite last start but had to do some work so was far from disgraced. Draws out but had won five of his previous six outings here. Can bounce back to winning form. DEMON BLUE (2) makes his first appearance since a midfield finish in the Queensland Derby in July and chased a handy filly when runner-up in his previous outing in the JC McMullen. Gets a good draw for his return and was readied with a trial placing. BASILISK BOB (5) goes very well fresh with two wins and a placing from three attempts and was readied with an easy trial win. RAKASANDY (6) is going well with a series of top-four finishes at this venue including a win over this distance two back and a placing from a similar barrier to this last time. Respect.
