Although beaten ran one of the quickest times on the card last start. Winning claims. ASTON GRANDEUR (7) filled the minor placings two races on end before breaking through for a maiden win last time, scoring by 7 lengths (25.68) at Ballarat. Makes plenty of appeal on the back of that last-start win. HARTLAND AXEL (1) looks close to another win after hitting the frame in a half a length second (22.92) in a Rank Limit - Grade 6 at Geelong.
