SECESSION (1) had been rock-solid with two placings in a row before finishing fourth over 1207m at Hawthorne last start. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. Expecting a bold showing. MR CHIVAS (2) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start when he settled well back over 1673m at this track, beaten 11 lengths into sixth. Ideally placed and is sure to give this a mighty shake. SMART JOKER (4) bounced back last start and landed the prize by 3.5 lengths after being in the firing line on the corner as favourite over 1207m at this track (Dirt). No reason he cannot salute again. HER NAME WAS LOLA (7) lines up for the first time since June 21. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 1106m at this track. Yet to win first up but generally runs well with two minor placings from three tries. Has found a suitable race and is worth including.
