LUVA SCRAP (4) stayed out of the early speed battle from a wide gate on the second line last start and couldn't come into the race when 14 metres from the winner in ninth at Melton over 1720m. Ideally drawn and is sure to prove tough to beat. ISOLATION (2) has a recent win on the board but last time out finished 30 metres from the winner in seventh over 2180m at Kilmore on June 19. Sharpened up since that outing with a minor placing at the trials. Has the benefit of a good draw. Big chance based on his win two starts back. MAJOR BERT (1) is in the mix following a respectable third at his first run back over 2180m at Kilmore. GIVE DAVE A WAVE (6) cops a wide draw, but is worth including in all combinations.
